Last Club Walk
July 2018 - Masham
Following on from yet another very successful walking
weekend in the Lakes the walks at Masham again happened in exceptional
The Lakes weekend went well with several members
managing to walk on both the Friday and the Monday around the organised
walks. Thanks to John, Kate and Dennis for organising all the walks.
Members who tackled Striding Edge last year in the mist and fog, again
walked the ridge this year in clear, hot conditions - and were able to
see for the first time who brave they had been. Another great weekend
with excellent service from the staff at the Patterdale Hotel.
Preparations are starting to made for next years visit to the Lakes,
details on the News and Events web page. Photos from the weekend are
available on the Past Walks web page. For a link to ALL John's
Both Masham Walks were quite hard work in the hot
weather, although enjoyed by all. The Masham half Marathon was also
taking place on Sunday morning so it was quite crowded in the market
square. The 'A' walk visited Hack Fell and visited all the follies,
including the hand pumped fountain and Mulberry Castle. With 2 famous
breweries in the small town (Black Sheep and Theakston's), refreshments
were available at the end of a hot day. The coach returned in good time,
leaving Masham at 15:30.
